******************************************

Dear All,

Please note that the 3rd Round S.A. Championships entry form will now be placed

on the web on 03rd JULY, 2013, as at 08h00 the morning and the entry forms

will also be circulated to all Provincial Chairpersons on the 03rd July, 2013,

to be forwarded to their members, due to members travelling home on the Monday,

01st July, 2013.

All members to please remember the process to enter is that entry forms must be completed

(signed by competitor and Provincial Chairperson) and proof of payment forwarded to

SAPSA as per decision made by the Council.

Many thanks,

Sebella

All SAPSA members to take note of the

following SAPSA MANCO decision

In order to ensure that all SAPSA members comply with the spirit of fair play and

also to ensure that SAPSA does not compromise its standing with the

Central Firearms Registry, it has been decided that the following will apply:

“If a competitor does not complete all stages of the Course of Fire for a

match, the scores of that competitor will be removed from the match results,

unless confirmed by either the RM or MD that the competitor’s firearm

or equipment malfunctioned while attempting to

complete the Courses of Fire for the match”

The outcome would then be that the member will not be reflected on the

results of the match and can therefore not lay claim to points for having participated in the match.

Provincial Chairpersons must verify their members’ points for CFR purposes

before requesting SAPSA to issue their member with a DS letter.

PLEASE NOTE – SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING DECISION

– WORLD SHOOT XVII USA

“Proposal from Free State that after an IPSC decision is obtained at the IPSC Assembly

to be held in Thailand in December, 2013, on which teams will be allowed to enter the

World Shoot match, that the SAPSA Council then again consider the Divisions

and Categories of Teams, as well as Top Individuals per Division and Categories,

to be sent to the World Shoot XVII, with focus on the specific order in which the SA

Teams and Top Individual Categories will be selected within the number

of slots made available to South Africa.

Seconded:                   Limpopo

Counter Proposal:       None

The Chairman stated that a letter would be drawn up and forwarded to IPSC requesting

clarification as to the IPSC stance towards World Shoot XVII, as RSA

would like to make a decision regarding the Divisions and Categories that needed to be

selected and that a commitment be received in writing from IPSC.

Should no commitment be received from IPSC, then the Chairman would follow up at

the General Assembly in Thailand in November, 2013.

An email had been received from Vince Pinto regarding the Divisions and Categories

for World Shoot XVII but the contents of the email merely confirmed the status was as

per Annexure A.  Due to the fact that at the Greece World Shoot the IPSC President,

Nick Alexakos allowed Super Senior Open teams to enter and President medals

were issued, it is strongly felt by Council that a precedent has therefore been set.”

Please note that at the Annual Council Meeting, held on the 23rd February, 2013,

Wingate Country Club,  Pretoria, the following selection critera was decided upon:

Selection matches would be as follows and selection will be
based on best two out of three selection matches

1.    The 2nd Round S.A. Championships being held at Eeufees, Pretoria on
the 29th and 30th June, 2013.

2.    The 3rd Round S.A. Championships being held at Frontier, Stilfontein on
the 05th and 06th October, 2013.

3.    The 1st Round S.A. Championships being held at Golden City, Alberton on the
15th & 16th March, 2014.

.

Congratulations to Chrissie Wessels, who was selected as

Squad Manager for the USA World Shoot, 2014.

Dear members

I regrettably have to inform you that Ron Boyd passed away this morning.

He was a member of the The Cape Practical Pistol Club since 1997

when he retired to Cape Town.

Prior to this he was an active member of the Amanzimtoti Combat Club for many years.

He was also a Qualified RO.  He stayed active in the Club shooting actively over the age

of eighty one and often walked home with a Super Senior medal.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

We will inform you of the funeral arrangements once we have been notified.

Yours in sport shooting

Shotgun Starting Condition for 3-Gun

I have just received confirmation from Neil Beverley who is the IPSC
Shotgun Rules Technical Director, of the following.

"First and foremost the restriction to 8 rounds has been removed and definitive number is 9
rounds in the gun at the start signal (Standard Divisions),
regardless of whether it is an Option 1 or 2 start.

It is important to remember that it is acceptable to have a round sitting on the
elevator/carrier/floor-plate (e.g. for Benellis) as part of the number of loaded rounds.
Therefore, for example, it is incorrect to say for Standard Division that an Option-2-start
equates to 9 rounds in the tube.
The restriction is for 9 rounds in the gun, this could be empty chamber + 9 rounds
in the tube OR empty chamber + 8 rounds in the tube and 1 round on the elevator/carrier/floor-
plate.

The same concept applies for Modified and Open (14 rounds for fixed tube guns),
but please never define the way the rounds are to be loaded so as to exclude the "floating" round!

Note that an Option 2 start REQUIRES that the action be closed.

Neil Beverley
IPSC Shotgun Technical Director"
